Ms Kedisaletse Mahlangu, the Head of Department: International Partnerships in the Internationalisation and Engagement Unit of the Tshwane University of Technology joins FOREST21 as the TUT Board Member. She was part of international delegations that concluded some of TUT twining, collaboration, and partnerships and is passionate about international relations, peace and the environment, and human rights. A signatory to multiple memoranda of agreement with other universities from the Southern African Development Corporation, other African and European, Asian, and American countries for research, staff, and student exchange opportunities, her contribution to making the world a good and safe place to live in, and with peace with other nations requires no emphasis.

Ms Mahlangu believes that if we take care of the environment and help shape policy from the tenets of the United Nations Sustainable Goals, each continent, each country, and its citizens will contribute to the decrease of global warming and as a result thereof help save a world for the coming generations, a worthy legacy to contemplate. As collaboration is the key for any ecosystem to work. In taking the FOREST21 Board membership, Ms Mahlangu will build networks for the future. With the late Ms. Wangarĩ Muta Maathai, an iconic Kenyan social, environmental, and political activist who founded the Green Belt Movement, an environmental non-governmental organization focused on the planting of trees, environmental conservation, and women's rights as her role model, FOREST21 has a champion for its three key pillars. Ms. Mahlangu can be reached at: Mahlangukm@tut.ac.za
